NYLS – INTERVIEW / SPONSORSHIP SESSION
NYLS invites you to join us at our next open house interview / sponsorship session. We will present all who attend with information relative to who we are, what we have to offer and where we are headed as an organization. After the presentation, we will be interviewing all qualified candidate for possible opportunities here at NYLS.
WHY NYLS & OTHER FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How much money can I make?
It is realistic for a new agent to rent an average of one apartment per week if they work hard. Sales commissions are much larger and if an agent can sell a few apartments in addition to their rentals, this will impact earnings substantially. A six figure income in the first year is possible for hard workers with ability.
Where do I get the listings to show?
Be assured that we have access to more listings than any other broker downtown. Our internal listings database houses thousands of current listings which are updated daily and fed to all of our agents in real time by our listings department.
How do I get customers to work with?
We have four major sources of incoming leads: First are the ad calls from our print advertising. Second are leads from our web advertising. Third are leads from our corporate relocation department. Fourth, all our managers generate and rotate leads to agents, based on a daily sign in sheet.
What are the hours involved?
In many ways, you are starting your own business and you need to work hard to get it up and running. Statistics show that the agent who works five to six days a week is most successful in this industry. Weekends are also very important, as most New Yorkers have time to view apartments only during this time. The bottom line: The more you put into your business, the more money you will make. However, you are free to set your own hours.
What kind of person is NYLS looking for?
Work ethic is the single most important characteristic for success at NYLS. We are looking for professional people with good communication skills, business sense, and a strong entrepreneurial spirit. In the long run, determination and perseverance are omnipotent.
Why rentals?
Starting as a rental agent you earn income almost immediately and you can make good money doing rentals while you learn sales. We believe that each agent should be able to average at lease 3 deals per month. On average each rental is approximately $2,500 with a 50% commission split that averages out to $1,250 per deal to the agent; with a 3 deal per month aver age that works out to $45,000 per year. We encourage all of our agents to average 5 deals per month and many of our top producing agent’s average over 10 deals per month.
